Snakes

Snakes

A Poem by QuiteOllie

Serpents squirm on a pile of dirt and splinters and rotting fruit,

Eat things and digest, chew chew crunch

Swallow

Spit in the eyes of passers-by

Not a word for what you did,

Eat something else, chew chew crunch

Swallow

Spit again,

No reason, but then why not when you’re a fatal worm capable of murder without consequence.

Is it too easy?

They’re leaving you now, watch them, watch your victim.

All the aspirin in the world couldn’t cure their headache.

And now what? Chew chew crunch

Swallow.

And now look, you’ve gone and got old.

All the aspirin in the world blah blah blah

Chew chew crunch lost a tooth

Fighting ‘til the last second

You lift your head and it falls

But they're looking at the sky.
