Who I am

Who I am

A Poem by R.D.Scott

I am numb, cold to the touch. You hold me close, I feel no warmth. I stand in the rain and stare through the drops, yet it does not refresh. The light does not energise. I dream not of far off shores and what they hold. The destruction I’ve caused brings me no pain. The burning passion is now just ash, not an ember flickers. The smile I wear, fake. You can’t know me, there’s nothing inside. The soul I once had, has long since died.

Oh this was intence and painful. I saw the imagery, such despar and sadness. I must say this was one powerful piece in just a few short lines. Well done!
