Origami Sailors

Origami Sailors

A Poem by R. J. Maputi

A paper sailor he is
He turns around to the seas
His starboard moving away
Through waves of ravenous fires
Through gales of black smoke
Amidst mists of ashes
Amid drifting flotsam of burnt corpses
A paper ship there goes
Sailing the wildly burning seas
Where each blaze a finger
Where each conflagration a hand
Folding unfurled incinerated debris into origami
Of ships
Of sailors
Raising paper anchors
Turning around to the seas
Origami sailors we are

This is great. Well done. I love the metaphor to this poem, plus your vocabulary and descriptions are suberb- you're very good at portraying vivid imagery in the readers mind. Keep up the good work.
