Time to Say Good-bye

Time to Say Good-bye

A Poem by R. Derolf
"

A man leaves his wife and the woman faces being alone with their daughter

"

I sit here alone,
In this big empty bed.
Thoughts of you,
Running through my head.

It’s been three days,
Not one single call.
Should I be crying?
Or not caring at all?

What should I say,
When your daughter asks me,
Is daddy coming home?
Is he mad at me?

I’ll give you a divorce,
Just say when and where.
The pain I’ve gone through,
Has caused me not to care.

The tears will stop falling,
I’ll no longer be your wife.
She and I will move on,
We’ll start our new life.

Cold reality, it seems, and a tragedy. Divorce is such cruel torture. It touches so many lives and the pain lingers forever. A subject I know too well. You really nailed it, R. Derolf.
