On Beautiful Women

On Beautiful Women

A Poem by RachelWroteIt

The worst thing about being a woman

Is being told that others think you are beautiful.

But the minute you believe them,

The world retracts that edict.

And god forbid a woman think she’s beautiful

Without the consent of the world.

That’s the talk of revolution.

We can’t have that.

We can’t have women who think they are beautiful

Without the rest of the world’s permission.

Who knows what they would do next.

Maybe they’d think they were smarter than the world.

Maybe they’d walk away from all the bullshit.

And then where would the world be?
