Father.

Father.

A Poem by Rae

Shove it down my throat.
Watch while I choke on these words.
Too drunk not to stutter.
Too drunk not to stumble upon you.
Running you around inside my mind.
A rat race.
A second chance.
A never ending push and shove.
What’s in your wallet?
Nothing
Sir.
What’s in your heart?
Your daughter.
Not without some green.
Both that causes smoke,
and buys her a ring.
I don’t have that sir.
Then you don’t have enough.
Kid.
Girl.
Boy.
Outsider.
