Depression is..

Depression
When you can't cry
Your eyes are dry
You look to the sky
Wanting to die
Yet, you sigh
Knowing that's a lie
You just want to get by
So you drink alcohol and get high
Hoping it'll make time fly by
But...
Nothings working anymore
You're halfway out the door
Or laying on the floor
Wishing for something...more.
But...
There's nothing else
You lost yourself to the madness and craze, and the dark foggy haze...
Yet...
You still wake up, hoping this day will be different
And maybe someone will be heaven sent, hell bent, on helping you
Because lord knows you can't help yourself...not anymore.
Been trying for too long, thrashing in this throng
Seeking answers when there are none.
Hoping to see the sun, to have a little fun...but you pick up the gun.
And...it ends.

You may only have this one life but you didn't ask for it...
What do you do when it turns to disaster anyway?
A gift you didn't ask for turned into something even worse... A forced mix of emotion that shouldn't have been here to begin with.

Excellent write! Depression certainly comes in many forms and feelings expressed in the trials of our lives. Yet, we're greater than what we go through. Sometimes we don't always have the helping hand that we wished for and we might take longer to sort ourselves out. I think everyone is born for someone else to care about. Life is worth living on a lot of levels just look at yourself and what you've accomplished. Our journeys will test us in a myriad of ways, but you can prevail even if the odds says you should fail. Don't ever stop being yourself because there's no one else like you in this jacked up world we live in. Take care and keep writing :)
