Chasing Heaven

Chasing Heaven

A Poem by The Gay Kid
"

I wrote this poem thinking of the loneliness and abandonment I felt from my celestial father as every night I would pray for him to "make me right" but no answer ever came as I already was right.

"
I so arrogantly lay claim to heaven, and when at the gates they closed on me.
Now my soul stained of sin, all seven. Lost drowning endlessly in a deep, dark, sea.
The demons came for me on the hour of eleven, as I sank in the flotsam of my heart’s debris
Now even further am I from heaven, as the version of me that I am, God saw as no apogee

Even God shows prejudice and then we wonder why fewer and fewer young people embrace religion? I refuse to embrace something meaningless that shuns people for being different. Moving poem.

I may not be the best written and my grammar may fail me sometimes, but I choose to write anyway. Art is good for the soul, so you write, sing, paint, and feed your soul. It gets better, I promise .. more..
