Avro Arrow

Avro Arrow

A Poem by Chris T.

We will fly
at the speed of light
Cast aside
This world in strife
There’s no time
Let’s do this right
Let’s take off now for another life
but there’s no time

This world’s scared
Blind and seeing red
Should we care
Soon we’ll all be dead
Time is scarce
Our hearts have bled
No one will hear the words we have said
Let’s finish it this one time

Faced with fear
They'll black us out
It’s all clear
The conspirators shout
The end has come
We’re left to rot
soon our cries will be all but forgot
when they’re done

Interesting take on the cancelled Canadian fighter, whose engineers helped NASA to get into space. Never thought, i would see a poem, written about this part of Canadian history. The Arrow did managed to make one flight before being destroyed under Diefenbaker's orders. Personally, i think he gave in, to pressure by Boeing and other aircraft manufactors. Sorry about that, i get carried when talking about history. Thank you, for bringing to light, this part of Canadian history in your poem.
