Love As Cold As Stone

once, long ago,
there was a girl made of stone.
she had a glass heart,
and fragile eyes.
she was loved, but hated inside.
she stood so long waiting for him,
that her heart and soul became very dim.
and the longer she waited,
the further he became.
it only filled her head with shame.
and even though she knew it would come down to this,
she still waited in hopeless bliss.
he will never understand.
he was such an ignorant man.
because she's still waiting for him.
she'll never be whole, or herself again.
