Stay

Stay

Stay; lie here beside me, wrapped in us.

How softly the rain falls in the night
Washing away the day’s grime and dust.
How softly your touch falls on my heart
Washing away my disease of distrust.

Breathe deep the rain scent with delight,
For in its freshness a wonderful new start.
Breathe deep our scent of spent passion
Knowing love will exist come the light.

Feel the raindrop’s balm on the dark air
So cool and healing in its own fashion.
Feel my teardrops fall on your shoulder
So thankful am I to lay feelings bare.

Listen to how smoothly the rain falls
In its own time without being rushed.
Listen to how tenderly my heart calls
Requesting you to come a little closer.

Stay; lie here beside me, wrapped in us.
