Does God or Allah Cry?

Does God or Allah Cry?

A Poem by Rainbowco
"

"The Iraqis will welcome us with open arms and greet us with flowers." ~ Dick Cheney, April 2003 How's that goin for ya, Dick?

"

Fast the wind comes
Across oiled sands.
Omen of rising storm,
The flag whips round
White stars in blue sky.

Minds grow numb
Unable to understand.
Stinging grains swarm
Waves of howling sound
Swallow those about to die.

Tired eyes succumb.
Blood on broken hands,
For all the oath is sworn
Forever duty bound
Never question why

Voices struck dumb,
Soft thuds of dirt land,
Bugler plays taps on the horn.
The mothers’ hearts pound
Asking the question, “Why?”

Religion or oil drums,
Why do we take a stand?
When death’s shroud is worn,
Will good or evil be found?
Does God or Allah cry?

i really liked this poem. i thought "minds grow numb, unable to understand" and "tired eyes succumb, blood on broken hands" were two really good lines. and it took me a minute to realize the rhyme scheme but you did a really good job with it.
