DESICCATED

DESICCATED

A Poem by Rana
"

Dichotomy of Kashmir

"

Hey, you want me as your asset?

But why don’t you ask?

Conflict, you have melted the ice on the summit,

You sacrificed, called martyr too.

You yearn for my beauty,

All I need now is to snuggle.

You constantly exhibit your need,

Your need is despondency.

I am a afflict of your inadequate,

You butcher me every day and take pride.

You split me between clouds and rivers,

You carved a window to my heart.

I am not your asset, I am bower for many lives

Why you uproot so many trees?

You annexed parts of me and fogged the real me,

I’m woman, you treat me as Kashmir.
