Abby

Abby

A Poem by Randi Beatse
"

In memory of my dearest friend, Abby

"

I turned on the radio

That stupid song that reminds me of you

Was almost over

I wanted to smile

But instead I cried

I could see you dancing

Hearing your laughter echo through my mind

As you sang along

In your off key way

The light shone so bright

The sun lighting up your hair

And your green eyes sparkling

As if there wasn't a care in the world

I waited for that song to end

But a part of me wanted it to play forever

When the song ended

I felt empty

I swear I could feel you

And smell your perfume

What I wouldn't give

Just one more time

I'd dance and twirl

And laugh with you
