Salt of the Earth

Salt of the Earth

A Poem by Randy Johnson
"

DEDICATED TO AGNES JOHNSON (1948-2013) WHO PASSED AWAY ON MARCH 6, 2013.

"

You became a great mother in 1967 when you gave birth.

You were a special woman, you were the Salt of the Earth.

Almost four years after delivering my brother, you delivered me in 1971.

You always cared about me and my brother and I'm proud to be your son.

You could not survive, that was what the doctors ascertained.

On the day of your death, I was in so much pain.

Someday I'll join you in Heaven but I don't know when.

It brings me comfort to know that I'll see you again.
