Donkey Kong Country

Donkey Kong Country

A Story by Randy Johnson

After selling my Go-Kart, I bought Donkey Kong Country for the SNES twenty-five years ago tonight in 1994. I bought it at KB Toys and I remember buying it on the last day of November. It's a 16 Bit game but has 32 Bit graphics.

In this game, you play as Donkey and Diddy Kong. It's very similar to Super Mario Bros. You jump on top of enemies to kill them. But instead of collecting coins, you collect bananas. When you collect 100 bananas, you earn an extra life.

Somebody said that DKC should've been harder and shorter. But I say that is a load of BS. The original DKC isn't super hard but as you get farther in the game, the difficulty increases. And by the time I reached the end, it was pretty difficult.

And as for it being shorter, that's ridiculous. I paid $65.00 for it. When I pay that much for a game, I want my money's worth. The original is my favorite of the three Donkey Kong Country games.
