The Real Bliss Of Ignorance

The Real Bliss Of Ignorance

A Poem by Ranger Nadaly
"

A piece I believe in.

"
Believing in society,
Believing in change.
Thinking You make a difference.
Opening your eyes,
To the faux.
To the deceit.
You're naive.
Young.
You think life is your own movie.
You as the super hero.
Saving the day, and
Your gracious reward?
Happiness.
Your innocence is pure,
Born from the love
You have known so well.
Momma hides you.
From the evil that surrounds you.
Little does she know,
That when you face it
Head on.
Without Warning ...
Your the only one hurt.

An interesting flow of opinions about life. I tend to believe that "reality" is what you believe, thus it is a choice that one makes to be hurt by it or not. While I also believe that it is a parents job to ease a child into the mainstream events that we call life. It's also their job to shove them out when they hesitate to take those first few steps.
This poem speaks truly... yet I feel it only considers a small wedge of what people may hold true.

Thanks for sharing your ink!

I agree that we can "over-protect" our children. We need to let them fall on occasion...to get a back bone...to obtain thicker skin. Otherwise...we are setting them up for failure...to be future door mats.

Indeed, our parents do shelter us from the real world. All too soon we learn the ins and outs, the deceit and feel our own vulnerability. Good write. Lydi**

Thank you, its one of my favorites. Something I don't see confronted often in writing.
"Your" in this case is a possessive. Write it 'You're."

I believe we can make a difference.
