Moths To A Flame

The moth
who continues this infinite flight
through this infinite night.
I am The moth
surrounded by an infinite plight
I've come to see as my not so infinite life.
I am The moth
with no excess of time
I am The moth
with no direction, i seek signs
The moth
without interest
in cold darkness
The moth.
But, then there was you
The flame.
Piercing through nocturnal curtains
The flame
who's light shines
who's bright eyes
who's existence ignites mine.
The flame
my purpose my goal
you are my focus
my reality my soul
The flame
I constantly approach you with caution
because your fire has claimed many
throughout time, burned plenty
with promises of escape, fulfillment and nirvana
but if I turn and fly away from you, my beautiful flame
I'll be in darkness yet again
I'll be in emptiness, my old friend
The flame will test me, no doubt
The flame will end me, no doubt
but The flame will also save me, no doubt
The flame will claim me; drain me; detain me; starve me; carve me
will take everything, and almost everyone will leave me
so burn, beautiful flame
be the gate, that will help me leave this world
be my death; my life; my legacy; my  friend; my family; my thoughts; my insanity
I am The moth
forever untamed
diving right...
into my passionate flame.
