The Nothing I Have Become

The Nothing I Have Become

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Saw-toothed silver descended deep into cerulean veins

Blood skates between and over keys of a keyboard

And through a shroud of tears vision blurs

Obscure are reasons why to carry on

As the dunes collapse

And buries hopes

Suffocates dreams

I’m…no longer climbing the stairs

To the next level of immortal anguish

Tragedy dresses me in bleak coils of self-loathing

And life is an ever fleeting light

I care not to reach for
