Politics And Religion

Politics And Religion

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Solstice follows an unchanged routine

Avenue after avenue, twists and turns pattern themselves

And lead to a congregation equipped with either brutality or gentleness…

…ill intent or compassion…

…lies or honesty

But endeavors either virtuous or depraved tag along

Ominous deeds are masked by fake smiles...

...handshakes and unfilled promises

As behind gleaming eyes hell waits

and poison spewed by practiced sermon taints naive minds
