Bring On the Rain

Bring On the Rain

A Poem by Catrin Gold

The star in my heart is fading,
the sun won't shine again.
Clouds are slowly seeping in,
and I say,
                Bring on the rain.

The dance takes two,
but one still refrains.
I fought hard to break the chains,
but you said,
                    Bring on the pain.

The rain fell hard,
and wiped away the dust
in the wake of a love redefined.
And the pain still felt
after all these years,
is aching in my mind.

And I've lost the words that keep me going,
I've lost the trail that kept me sane.
I've nothing left but the burning memories,
So I say . . .
                     Bring on the rain.
