Crush

Crushes are something we all get. This was inspired by a friend of mines.

Why do we get crushes?

Why does our heart beat faster, our palms sweat?

Why do we make a fool of ourselves whenever they're near?

Why go through all these feelings for someone you're not gonna talk to?

Why shy away from the opportunity to make a move and regret it every day?

Why break our hearts with faraway stares and fantasies that will never come true?

Why do we crush?

Do we do it to get crushed when they get their own love?

Do we do it because we just can't help it? Because it's in our nature? never come true?

Why do we crush?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic

I get crushes, I really do

But sometimes I feel that I'm just fooling myself

That I could do something better with my time than crush on a person.

Crushes are nice sometimes

But other times they consume our time

Block us from seeing the truth.

The truth?

What is the truth?

The truth is that at the end of the day is YOU

YOU matter the most

YOU decide how your life is going to be 

You make your decisions, mistakes

It's all YOU 

 Don't let some crush stand in the way of your future

Don't let that unattainable crush bring you down

Yes there are people who help you along the way

And we're grateful for them

But it's you who decide at the end of it all

Don't waste your potential!

Pursue what you love!

Go for it full heartedly!
