Sorrowful Lullaby

Sorrowful Lullaby

A Poem by Matthew Soliguen
"

The lone man's lullaby

"
Sorrowful Lullaby,
Wave the night goodbye,
In the morning, open eyes,
Hoping you'll still be here by my side,
All my bad dreams,
Better than they seem,
Better than this life,
Saying things I don't mean,
Pathway to the stars,
Come from earth and then back to mars,
Gravity sure takes us far,
Break my heart then  leave a scar,
Crystal lakes, and emerald beaches,
Wishing wells and graveyard leeches,
I just drank through  countless riches,
Dreams are just my unfulfilled wishes,
In my bedroom, all alone,
In the stolen world I call my own,
Empty space, and naive heart,
Your crystal tears ripped me apart
All our hopes have gathered dust,
All our wishes start growing rust,
We never loved, we only lust,
We never cared, we lost all trust,
All these loud thoughts in my head,
All your words keep me awake at bed,
All the while, to you they led,
Love you, left you, now I'm dead,
Maybe one day, make it true,
Maybe one day, I'll come back to you,
My lover's lullaby,
Wave the Night goodbye,
Through the darkness, open eyes
See your pale ghost by my side.
