Waits

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

Waits

"

Until she dies I appreciate her suffering I am lifeless.

I hate her innocence

would that it overcome my pride.

her quiet desperate emotion should understand someone else's wisdom.

As if God could comprehend our hell.

Continually my ignorance is tattered

over her shall I never placidly weep.

 like another's unperturbed creature

her withered mind should ravage someone else's thoughts.

I treat her like another's unperturbed creature and hope her withered mind should ravage someone else's thoughts.

Loving someone in pain is very difficult. This one hit home with me.

I never placidly weep...in this hell. Should her taint belong to another perhaps if one could be free of her life would appear from behind the moon. Love this one.

I am absolutely in love with this poem. Something about it makes it seem so sinister, yet in a profound way I find it comforting. My favourite line was ' As if God could comprehend our hell'. Thank you for posting this. I am going to put this poem in my library.
