An Angel is Born

An Angel is Born

A Poem by Rayne212

Crack!

Confusion.

Crack!

Confusion gives way to terror.
Terror that locks you. That makes you want to curl and wish the world away.

Crack!

My buddy kneels. He's looking at me. No pain. No anger. Just suprise.

Crack!

The spark lights. The ragr consumes me.

Crack!

It burns everything away. It burns and burns till there is nothing left in me but a void.

Crack!

From the void comes the cold. Cold fury. Cold like you couldn't imagine.

Crack! Crack!

Just when I think I can take no more....I hear my wings open. I hear them open and I start reaping.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

My lance reaches out in the night and I take. And I take. And I take.

Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!

I take till there is nothing left.

This is haunting and it definitely depicts a power that takes over and it’s almost as if a duality exists within self, and perhaps a Jekyl/Hyde conflict that arises and even as self is morphing as a reaction to triggers, one can still observe lucidly what the other powerful persona is doing through the body of the host. PTSD is harrowing and hollowing.. what a sacrifice for whatever cause brought you it, and if it was due to public or military service, thank you sincerely for your service and your obvious sacrifice. I’m sure you never feel the same as before. Thanks for being brave enough to write about it and share.
