Apology

It hurts. I'm sorry.

How do I tell you I’m sorry?

For the things I’ve done you painfully

All I wanted was to make you happy

Rather it sabotaged things completely.

 

Distance grew between us

Now to you I am a cuss

Losing the years of trust

Here I am, starting to adjust.

 

I decided to finally confront you

To ask forgiveness for the troubles I’ve caused you

But I couldn’t find the nerve to say

Instead, I walked away.

 

Told myself “It’s gonna be okay”

And every night that’s what I pray

To bring back things the way it used to be

And say to each other “are we cool, aren’t we’?
