Fear of Darkness

Fear of Darkness

A Poem by Roy

Everything's gone dark,
You start to scream,
Alone and terrified,
What does it mean?

Stumbling around,
Something catches your eye,
Will this be the night,
That you finally die?

What's to be scared of?
What could it be,
Why not try the lights?
Go on, let yourself see

But wait! Not yet,
Take a moment to think,
This could be what it wants,
Don't put your life on the brink.

Think of your fear,
Your fear of the dark,
Are you sure that's your fear?
You're scared of the dark?

Or is it the light,
That reveals all that's there,
You're safe in the dark,
From my evil stare.

So be not of fear,
From the dark that's binding.

Don't turn on the lights,
The horror is blinding.

I like this, has a good twist of thought and its fun and menacing at the same time
