Bonds of Fear (sonnet)

Bonds of Fear (sonnet)

A Poem by Roseanne W.

Invisible, translucent chains confine me,
and unseen steel ropes tie down my wings.
I beg you to break and set me free,
you imaginary constraining things.

What weight do they posses that holds me back?
What black, dark, evil magic has been cast?
Power enough to show, its strength I lack,
mock me with chain links reinforced to last.

Where did this weakness sprout and out pour from
and what is to be thought of this bondage,
my incapacity to overcome
keeps me balancing on this razor’s edge.

Truth be told, my one true flaw. . .is it fear?
Holding me in this adverse atmosphere.

I like this. I've always found sonnets really hard to write, and you even managed to throw in 'imaginary', which I think is awesome.
On the subject of your poem, I think it's very well-written, a good description of fear.
