Black and white puzzlement

about a white and black couple.

Most people do not get our dearest love,
They scowl they glare they snarl at us.
How could the crow fall in love with the dove
They can’t believe; they look at us and cuss.
But we are in love, this they can’t believe.
It is a hard love but we will survive,
They think it’s just a joke; that we deceive,
They tell him to go back and do his jive,
I get so mad; how dare they say these things.
He tells me to calm down; we’ll live through this.
He tells me that one day we’ll wear those rings,
He bends down and gives me a little kiss,
We are in love and we always will be.
Then; he grabs a box and crawls to his knees.
