Monsters

Monsters

A Poem by Brianna Van Zandt
"

It was a stupid thing I did because I was trying to ignore a school assembly so I wouldn't cry.. It's s**t, to me, but you can decide.. I wasn't even gonna post it....

"

Monsters

Sharp, pointed horns,

Gnashing teeth,

Glowing eyes

And claws like blades.

These are the monsters

in a child’s nightmares.

Broken hearts and spirits,

Wounded minds and bodies.

A man with a gun,

                And nothing left to lose.

A man, stalking and waiting

with the darkest intentions,

These are the monsters

in our daily lives.

Monsters are everywhere,

In our lives

And in our minds.

But a child’s monsters

Can be fought off by a little teddy bear.

What can fight the monsters

That haunt us every day?

Simple. Imagery is good. Truth in the words. A splendid one overall. Bravo......................

You are welcome...:)...................
yep.. the monster never really go away. How do we fight them ..for me it's like playing tag you can play it but you might get tagged if not someone else will .. someone always does.. but we do our best..some good things to ponder here.

Glad you enjoyed it. Clearly, poetry isn't my strong point, so thank you for reviewing it.
Love it, Kit-Kat.
