BrokenA Poem by Rebecca WadaOnce we are tainted, we try our best not to taint others but we just can't help it sometimes.
I'm drunk almost every fucing night
Trying to drown your voice out You took me high and let me crash down Now when you see me you smile a sad smile And walk by like you do not know me I was never like this I was pretty till you broke me Now I do not even recognize myself You don't too but that's the price I had to pay for loving you Now i am broken Now we are one and the same out in the world to break the unbroken Before I let you in I warned you I was not worth loving but you thought you could change me so I let you try and now you blame me cause my darkness cancelled out your light You had a vivid picture of this was going to play out but yet I saw the look of excitement in your eyes a broke toy for you to fix I just smiled cause there was no stopping you But now I am the villain and you the victim cause I couldn't be changed I guess that's what you get for loving me Now you are broken Now we are one and the same out in the world to break the unbroken © 2017 Rebecca Wada |
