A Poem by J. Randall Dodd

[i]

with all your exotic,
elegant, extravagance
you seem fancy for fancifulness' sake!
your beauteous eyes and
iridescent shimmer bring a quiver
'cross my very soul.

how do you get your dress
to fit just so;
draped smooth, gracefully laid
o'er your bustle--
made to be the perfect length,
swaying with such precise precision?

[ii]

the way you relish
all eyes brought upon you
as you lift yours,
(in blue-green gown-- fanned feathers)
confidently strutting and dancing with
erotic, quixotic flow.

what devil has sent you to damn me
with such fantastical, pleasured vision!?

Author's Note

J. Randall Dodd
i am aware that in the male peacock v. female battle, the male peacock is the more beautiful of the two. however, i am exercising poetic license and switching it for the sake of the poem. enjoy.
