soft-spun electric

soft-spun electric

A Poem by J. Randall Dodd

soft-spun electric

flowing, blowing with breezes

'cross a bamboo forest

brilliant green

brushes colors on canvas sky:

a thousand blues, each a duller tone

the guyqin mingles

with singing of faceless dancers

frozen in space

a zhonghu's lonesome chord

splits the bamboo leaf--

dancers flash to life

peacocks close feathered tails

trickling sounds

drown out the glimmer of water

last gasps of twilight

twirl in faceless eyes

song fades into shadow
