Love . . . why bother?

Love . . . why bother?

A Poem by Reeses

Love . . . Why bother?

I think I will make myself laugh with this one

Been asking why bother to love since the first time rays expanded from the Sun

Really, why bother only to be disappointed in the ending result?

Then you find it unbelievable when they reply “it’s NOT just my fault!”

Fire might explode from my fingertips . . .

If I hear any more lies drip from your lips

Is it another sad love song left to be sung?

Nope, because sooner or later they will realize they are sprung

By then love will never even come to your mind

Why? Because you’ve buried it under the Jesus sign

Now love can’t eat without you

Now love can’t sleep without you

Now love can’t breathe without you

Now you wish love never found you

THEN YOU SCREAM EVEN LOUDER!

LOVE . . . WHY BOTHER?

No this statement isn't true, "Love...why bother"
What is true is that we've got to love ourselves enough to bring people into our lives, heart, and homes that are worthy of us and our love!
We've got to search for people that care and respect "themselves" first and that will ultimately care and respect you!
Bullshyt, lying, and cheating are irresponsible choices that have nothing to do with LOVE!
We make stupid decisions and then blame the consequences of our actions on LOVE...
Love is an emotion that can't think ... we have the minds ... so it's time that we start thinking more meticulously about our choices and start using our experiences as tools to protect us instead of incorporating them into actions that haunt us!
Love ain't the problem!
The choices and the decisions we make are the problems!

***Remember:
In life we are either rewarded for the decisions we make or forced in some way or another to pay the consequences for our actions!***
Ya dig...?

{{Tupac is smiling and so is Nat Turner, Langston Hughes and many, many others! As well as my 80 year old father who had to use colored restrooms, drink out of colored water fountains and enter through the back door and so is his 50 year old daughter(ME) who NEVER thought that in my lifetime I would witness such a treasure! }}

Respectfully,
The Duchess...

I totally agree with Kena that is a great line. I wonder what inspired this one? I agree when it hurts, and I always tell myself I wont love lhard the next time around or that there won't be a next time and ther always is. But I do understand WHY BOTHER? I like it woman, it hits home. I will be checking more of your stuff out!!!!

Great political announcment. and yes, i'm happy about Obama too!! it's amazing we have our first Black President, and one so capable.

as for this poem, i am nodding my head in agreeemnt, bec it's true, love....why bother? whats' the point of it is not reciprocated. It's a song that is sung over and over again for no apparent reason. here is my favorite part:

Fire might explode from my fingertips . . .

If I hear any more lies drip from your lips

(WOW! I LOVE THAT LINE THERE...SMOOTH)
