The Lavender Rose

The Lavender Rose

A Poem by WindSong

The Lavender Rose

You see it alone

In a vase,

On someone's

Old wooden table:

You think it was given

To someone with love,

Yet!

There is a dewdrop

Upon one of its petals,

A folded memoir

By its side:

You wonder about

Its meaning,

Still

You do not know

The reason

Why

Someone left,

The lavender rose

To die!

Oh how sad this is Windsong...such a departure to your normal work but no less of a soft impact for that either
