Virtual Reality

A Poem by Heather Phelps

Amidst all these fatal blows
all this screaming
I find myself thinking
how dare he?
I must admit my love
for him is strong
but it means nothing
not a goddamn thing anymore.
He cares too much
about his video games
and would rather die
than care for me.
My true side is coming,
coming out of seclusion
into the world today.
On the news again
I shall be
then he'll see
what in hell he's
done to me.

Men and their toys, huh? What can really be said about this? You love who you love. Was this exclusion of you a gradual thing? Either way, you have obviously created a thought provoking piece here! Good job and stay cool!
