A Poem by Reika
"

"Fate"...Time is a lonely partner

"
Fate; fate is very real.

More real than I ever thought possible; more real than the clothes on my back, more than the skin covering my body and the blood running through my veins.

Look at him, over therewhat a good man; what a good fate.

But my fate, my fate is eternity, and time. And loneliness is the sugar coating on this terrible desert.

Day after day, time devours life, but not mine. People come into my life, never to be friends. They peek in for a moment and disappear in the blink of an eye; acquaintances foreveror just a memoryan image scarred into my immortal mind.

Hope and love, compassion and mercy, they are no longer my life companions. They were stolen from me, long ago.

I was left here in the dusty road. To die? Not to die, never to die. To live forever.

Cant I have someone to share my forever?

My eternity?

My fate?

I guess all I can do is waitwait for something, for someone, anythinganyone to come and rescue me. It wont be much because its all I do anyway.

Fate; fate is my eternity and time is my only partner.

I wrote this a while ago. It was inspired by a book I was reading. I don't really remember what book it was though...I have such a horrible memory...haha...

good write. but without time there couldn`t be hope of joy one day for the moment . if you can`t make you own self happy then why try with someone else. never lok in other people for joy. when happiness is right on your face ,heart and spirit.

this makes me think maybe the book was about a vampire. lol.

it's a great piece. sad.

i love the image of "acquaintances foreveror just a memoryan image scarred into my immortal mind."

how time replaces human intimacy. it begs the idea that the unknown brevity of life is partially what inspires human relationships. without that driving common denominator.... the immortal cannot on a fundamental level feel that close bond.

interesting piece. thanks for sharing!
