LIPS SO COLD

LIPS SO COLD

A Poem by Rene Velez

drips from the faucet
a reminder of times pendulum
the age of family portraits
I, the abandoned soul trapped
in earths orbit, and lively
hours pay the price...

life has loved me twice
though it is meager as mice
left to my own device
precise, my poetry will suffice...

water ice laced with lice
I consume to hold the ice flow
strip my clothes and expose my soul
a verbal plateau is where I welcome fights
and of life I let go

behold I embrace my spirituality
and kiss the Queen of mortality
of lips so cold her hair of snow
I cherish given hospitality
I bottle her glow
and bring warmth to her brutality...

John Doe is me, didn't mean it to sound morbid, just meant as me in my purest form when I write my poetry...

Left to my own device, I kiss the Queen of Mortality's cold lips. My soul is trapped in earth's orbit and a verbal plateau is where I welcome fights.....when I strip the clothes of John Doe..........excellent Rene!

This was a great piece of art. The words unfolded as if we were watching a model being carved out of stone.

Awesome work, Rene. A very nice drink of water on this sweltering day.

Absolutely beautifully written. I love the imagery and sleek coolness of the wording and structure. Perfectly rounded off with a abrilliant title. :)
