A RECKONING

A RECKONING

A Poem by Rene Velez

I have awakened from my life of slumber,
I see the mountain before me
light illumines the glory, I am before thee

I have shed the weights of time,
I am in my pilgrimage
a soul to salvage
I am not worthy of his image

I am followed with sin
in the face of his son
in heavenly winds
we gather as one

am I to be cast out of his lineage?
which sin will cast the first stone?

without skin or bone
I await the unknown at the steps of his throne.

As our lives flash before us we reflect back on our sins and try to redeem through his infinite mercy. Our destiny is what it, till we reach it, it's not the end of the world!

Much thought has gone into this very poignant write...

Thank you for sharing!

Makes one think!
