Limbo

Limbo

A Poem by Kenny Bellamy

We are broken and castaway,
a pregnant pariah, a ghoul
lost besides horned branches of grey.

Tugging the fetus where it lay.
That reprobate, the strand it pulls.
We are broken and castaway.

What hatred drove did hotly crave
to separate the fawn and fool
lost besides horned branches of grey?

Every love for the green and gay
reduced to a machine, a tool.
We are broken and castaway.

Fractured, the memories of day
catechism, the lessons of drool
lost besides horned branches of grey.

Twin tragedies: children and play
arrived at last, the nighttime pool.
We are broken and castaway
lost besides horned branches of grey.
