Ever So Calm

Ever So Calm

A Poem by Reticent

Nothing was ever so calm

A wind passing through

The empty streets of afar

The walls cast their shadows

A wind passing through

Cats sprint on rooftops above

The walls cast their shadows

Glowing with lanterns of light

Cats sprint on rooftops above

An open door creaking forth

Glowing like lanterns of light

I quietly wander in thought

A closing door creaking forth

The empty streets of afar

A deep breath of winter’s wind

Nothing was ever so calm
