Under the Weight

Under the Weight

A Poem by BruceJackson
"

Under the weight of all of the pressure some folks just simply seem to crack and lose it. Don't be so quick to judge. Yours may just get a little heavier before you know it.

"

I got bills upon bills.

I can't increase my skills.

So here I am today,

Leaving without frills.

My greatest days are far behind me.

My greatest days shall never find me.

I feel that my greatest days will drift away.

I feel that my greatest day only seemed to have lasted but a day.

Incited by all that seems out of my reach,

I plead to the Lord for the lesson He may teach.

I am a wretched soul or so at least it seems.

My wretched soul cries out for its unlived dreams.

Where have my good days gone so fast?

Why is that they seemed not to last?

My greatest days are far behind me.

My greatest days shall never find me.
