This is our world. These are the people with the power.
Remember when we could laugh at Icke and all his wild reptilian allegations, too ludicrous to dignify with civil suits for libel or slander? his outrageous claims of global conspiracies, obscene practices amid billionaire degenerates and of corruption that empowers corruption? Remember when that was still funny?
We smile less now, I guess. It's harder to see the funny side these days, to joke about abuse of power, abuse of privilege, abuse of small, frail bodies, while the same elite, cold-blooded cabal increasingly owns everything and everyone. It's hard to hear the laughter over the braying of lizard throats trying to sound human, or of human throats, trying to speak lizard.
It's easy to look at those conspiracy theories and laugh at how over-the-top and nonsensical they are. But sometimes they're like fables, I guess, you scratch away the top layer of the fantastical, weird stuff, and you get to the truth of it. It's a wonderful world for the rich. Anyway, I think you summed it up nicely; reality isn't far off those things, and that's depressing. Excellent writing.

Yeah, if you take Icke's theories allegorically, he's pretty on-the-money, right?

I entirely take your serious point. I can't look at pictures of Dick Cheney without seeing a reptile. Something I read the other day depressed me hugely ... something like the thousand richest people in Britain have trebled their wealth in the last ten years, while the rest of us mugs lived through a recession.
Lizards indeed.
As seems to happen with spooky frequency, you and I have been thinking along the same lines. You prompted me to dig out a david Icke thing that I recently wrote.
Please keep it up. Your work is a positive delight to read.
