The golden light

The golden light

A Poem by Richard Milam

Who bidst' me of my farewell song
and bids me not where I belong.
I am the golden light of day
the sunset song, the last hooray.
I color your sky with yellows and pinks
and various shades of orchids and inks.
The silent strains of the song I bear
in my golden light I have to share.
Then my swan song  the beauty I dole
as last my radiance do I toll.
and of the golden light that I gave
to guide you to heaven from your Earthly grave...
