Multitasking

Multitasking

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey

I woke up and
Looked for indentations
Of your silhouetted
Image
Created from the
Orange rays
Of sunlight
Ruffled bedsheets
Bends in the pillow
Where your head
Was
Tucked under
Your arms
That you alternate
Between the pillow and
My soul's wimping
To be touched?
Multitasking
Suits you to a tee
Even when the
Gloves don't fit
You still
Acquit
And never quit
Getting every drop
Out of those
Oj moments
That Minute Maid
Made by plucking
The fruits from
Our private orchard
As harvest of change
Finally come to fruition
As the rotten season
Is forgotten?
As the thawing of
Our fears
Spring us into
A renewed hope
That burns bright
Beneath
Arnold Palmer-ed
Summer moments
As we sip from
Our cups of compassion
In the shade of our
Contentment
On the porch of peace
Thinking back
As I reflect
Searching for
The tucked covers
Of the present
While the the pillow
Hides the future
As I am blanketed
By the past
I realized that you
Were good at
Multitasking
Balancing
What you needed
Against what I needed
Against the empty
Reality of your needs
Our needs
Doing what you do best
Leave

nice reference to the O.J. trial there...

my last ex was good at that..."leaving"---others expressed that opinion to me...probably was true.
some leave the indention on the pillow, but it is only temporary...
and even with a blanketed past, someone will find room in your heart some day soon.

nicely done.

Wow, our private orchard as harvest and change. Love that imagery. Even when things don't work out the way you had wished, you still get the fruit that you harvested, and we walk away with lessons and being better, even when it hurts. i smiled at the multi-tasking references.
