Flawed

The schematic

Had flaws

But they decided

To build him anyway

They imported

Island hues

From Jamaica 

As the traced

Silhouette 

Started to form a

Menacing figure

Devoid of light

Hands like vise-grips

Forearms cut

From granite

Chest broad

Like the seas

Neck un-lynchable

Feet thick

Leaving

Unmistakable

Imprints in

The jungles of life

Eyes red like fire

Pupils diluted with

Determination

As the cornea

Remains dry

Tears will never

Flow from any

Part of his eyes

A heart that

Selectively breathes 

For life but

Not love

A great provider

But nothing else

Human about him

Chips of ice

Made from

The icebox

That is in 

His soul

He's been forged

By Bethlehem Steel

As he feels nothing

The schematic

Is checked again

And again

As the builder

Is struggling with

What to call

This flawed 

Structure of

A man

He looked over

At me

Asked me what

Did I see?

I said that's

"My daddy"

You are so kind, it is days like this it was mistake to move so far away from family and friends. As for my poetry I appreciate it that you like but I have accepted the fact that most don't like socially driven poetry. To have some one as great as yourself to read my works is humbling. Forgive any mistakes I am in a lot of pain.

Everyone has their individual "tastes" in life.. which is a good thing (I think) in the long run.. diversity and individuality is what makes this world entertaining and interesting.. I do find your writing refreshing in its bluntness and honesty.. too many people write for "an audience" instead of themselves... and yes, being away from family and friends makes it hard.. if there is ever anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask..
