Tonight ( Rainy Night In New Orleans)

Tonight ( Rainy Night In New Orleans)

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

Freestyle

"
Gray boom clouds
hide the moon tonight
Lovers running up and
Down Bourbon Street
Hoping to find cover
In a speakeasy
Or juke joint
Hoping to get
Wet for different
Reasons
Cars whisking by
My hotel window
As the rumble from
The thunder
Shakes my room
As I look up to
The sky and wonder
Is God hungry?
The lighting lights
Up my room
As I stare outside
The window again
Hoping that the
Rain will wash away
My fears and
Mask my tears
I glance up and
Down the street
Looking for the cat
That plays the sax
For nickels and dimes
Tonight it is sad and
Silent for both us
Because there is no
Change to be found
Tonight...
