Poem #12

In the restaurant of hate

I was served a plate
Full of hate
With sides that I further
Despised because
They were full of lies
As the flies could not
Disguise the contempt
As the chef made an
Attempt to make it
Smell like shrimp
But since I was
Born by the bay
I saw through this
Deception right away
As my veggies were
Supposed to be
Al dente
As my steak was
Supposed to be
Prepared rare
But systemic racism
Made sure it was
Well done
As the desired outcome
For a new menu change
Was a farce
Equality was still sparse
Because the change
That they advertised
In the advertisement
Was a joke aimed
At further deceiving Black Folks
Having them believe
That the menu for
Democracy had changed
But the venue remained
The same
As
Apple pies were half baked
While other pastries that
They tried to serve me
Sat on the shelf needed
Some Help*
As the baker had
To admit
That his pies were
Full of s**t
Now to think they
Still think that their s**t
Doesn't stink
Yet again,
We have
Been Hoodwinked
As
The tomfoolery
Never
Ever ends!

the "Help" reference was the movie the "Help" where the servant served back a pie full of shit and watched her employer eat her shit literally.
