Skin

Skin

A Poem by D. Gosa

Skin is holding us back.

Our bodies dance in rhythm to
the beat of the Earth.
Connecting us to a higher being
Softly, slowly wrapping us in its embrace

But skin is holding us back.

Warm, caressive agression licks our souls
Binding, penetrating our hearts with its fire
A musical chord is played in the cosmos
We hunger for more

Yet again skin is holding us back.

Can you hear that voice inside you?          It begs
It is shackled, asking to break through
A bit more        A bit more
Cling to me like the loving vine          We share the same soul

Skin is what keeps us from being divine.
