The Seeds of Hate

The Seeds of Hate

A Poem by Alias Fletcher
"

do we ever lose the past?

"

The Fires Burned

The fires burned,

Consumed and burned

Within his long tortured soul.

God is love. Love yourself. Love all...

Yet all around the greed and hate flourished

The new rich clutched his needed sustenance tight, laughing giddily,

Only dropping a meager morsel, so his starvation slowed.

God is love. Love yourself. Love all... Lies! All lies! God is hate...

This is what life taught him,

        Watching his lover die...

        Watching his babies die...

        Watching his mother die...

        Watching his father die...

Life is hate. There is no God of love. There is no God.

And the fires burned;

The flames swept on, turning his soul

Into a smoldering cauldron of hate and despair.

How do you think he filled his days?

What kinds of things did he build?

Do you think he planted flowers?

And sent his lovers valentines?

Think again, you new rich, safe in your gated cities... think again!

I know what you mean in this poem.
This two lines really caught me:
'Life is hate. There is no God of love. There is no God.'
'God is love. Love yourself. Love all... Lies! All lies! God is hate...'

This poem was really good, it really reminded me of how i was in the past. Thanks for sharing.
